Wash-in

Wash-in

After a break I mixed up a puddle of paint made of yellow ochre, burnt sienna, and ultramarine blue. This was thinned again with the Meyer medium to act as a drier. I spread it all over the canvas varying the mixture so that it wouldn’t be a simple monochromatic wash. I planned out the major value patterns with this mixture of paint, deepening the darker areas with an additional wash and lightening the lightest areas by wiping them out with paper towels. This was a good start and I decided to call it a day.
